I answered your email directly. Maybe spam filter?
The units only have come in 1.5 and 2.5x configurations. I know the Israely Mil had some "other" 4x systems similar to this, but they were not the M845.
Also, a few point to add about comparing a I2 device vs. digital.
There really is no comparison. A NV device is a light amplification device, nothing more, nothing less. A digital device is just that, a digital picture that does nothing to amplify light. Thus, in very low light, the digital devices frame rate goes bad in a hurry, and it can appear you're watching those old Apollo moon walking videos.
Even with good supplemental IR or brighter ambient conditions, the digi devices are still well below sub vs. a M845 and almost all NV devices.
I hope technology continues to improve digi stuff because I think it shows great promise. I think at the moment, there is much marketing hype happening with the Pulsar system...
With that said, there REALLY needs to be a Pulsar Digi vs. the Elcan Day/Night Hunter. That is the REAL comparison folks should be talking about. The Elcan does everything the Pulsar units does for a cheaper price nowadays? Plus the Elcan unit has been around for a long time...Maybe I'm missing something here, but I do not see the REAL advantage the new entry Pulsar units give over the Elcan?
In fact, I think someone should do an in-depth comparison of all the Digi-devices and keep TRUE Night Vision devices out of the equation except to STRONGLY place a disclaimer that Digi devices do not compare with light amplification devices.
For me....I'm plain ol' tuckered out from the last Supervision review to re-visit this digi stiff all over again, but a true digi vs. digi devices comparison may silent the marketing hype we're seeing with the new Pulsar which seems to change nothing in the digi scope world compared to the other units...I may be wrong, but review away.
Edited to add....One thing the Supervision Digi device did that NOT ONE device is doing and this is something ALL SERIOUS digi devices should have at the bare minimum, and that is a high definition view screen. The Supervision unit has a 1024 screen that blows away every unit out there thus far that I have seen. That was about the only thing it had going for it at that time, but still leads the pack in that regard.
