Interesting, I was just emailing them about a switch barrel setup and it wasn’t mentioned. I’d like to see how it works.

They are now added to their website. Not a lot of details on the action yet. Other big news is they are building complete rifles on this new action as well as the EVOs, they even have a muzzle loader.

Did you watch the video? It looks like the barrel has an extension like a DTA or Dakota Traveler. Also, the tool less bolt head removal/swapping looks nice.

The section forward of the recoil lug is a clamp.

Interesting, so it’s a 3-lug so it probably has more Tempest DNA than EVO. Also, the extension looks like a logical next step of the breaching ring from the M2008/M2013 (Did the Tempest have one also?).

The extension is much larger than a tempest breech ring, which makes sense since they need the space for clamping area.

Barrel is installed in barrel extension. You can see the locating notch at the TDC of the extension. That notch interfaces with a locating pin or extension in the reciever.

This is a copy of what Schultz&Larsen and Sauer have been doing for the last 25 and 40 years respectively.

If Macbros, and others that will use this system, are smart they should use the dimensions of the Sauer SSG3000/STR/202 bolt/barrel/action interface. There are boatloads of barrels and barrelextentions, for gunsmithing custom barrels, available in Europe. Even Blaser make matchbarrels for the Sauer interface.

S&L also make an action with integral picrail in steel or aluminium.
