Although this is gear i figured it would get more of the responses i was looking for here.

Looking to set up a second belt and was hoping to have a little more versatility in my mag pouches.

I currently have a setup with esstac kywi pouches and love them but the pistol pouches are dedicated to double stack mags and i run both single and double.

I have 2 of the hsgi tacos and they work great for drawing mags out but doing an admin reload its a pain in the ass to reinsert a mag with those 2 plastic prongs always collapsing in.

Looks like the Gcode softshell scoprions do a better job of it but it seems reinsertion and draw are a lot tougher than the esstac or hsgi but i have no first hand experience with them.

Anyone have recommendations for pouches or suggestions to fix the taco issues? Ill setup a whole other belt if necessary but would be nice to have one belt and just use the safariland qls for holster swaps.

Have you tried the HSGI polymer tacos? I had the original and switched to this sense the are easier to re-insert the mags compared to the original versions.

Have you looked into blue force gear?

I like their rifle and pistol mag pouches for spare mags inside of packs and non-speed reload locations on my belt. They are light weight, relatively low profile and dont take up much space

I haven't but i did look at them. With the harder body is the prong collapsing issue resolved? And experience with a 1911 mag in the pistol mag pouches?

And for Blue Force i use their 10speed tripple on the front of my plate carrier. Excellent to keep bulk off if you don't intend on using a second row of mags or any other crap you can stuff in them. Not ideal in my opinion for reinserting mags though for admin reloads.
