Night Vision magnifier for IR patrol or reap

has anyone (real person who paid for it) tried those torrey pines clamp on magnifiers for the patrol thermal series? do they work on the REAP IR? if so, what is word on the street, do they work fairly well. i don't see the point in putting one on a patrol when you can get the reap which is 2.5X other than you can take it off i guess.

I'd like to get my hands on one to test. I don't think it'll work with the reap though because it has a 2.5x objective lens.

yes, i think you are right, i've been doing some more research. darn it. i thought if you could optically triple the 2.5x that would be great. but i think the lens is bigger on the reap and so the lenses on the magnifiers would have to be way to big. but has anyone else used them on the patrols?

I have used a 2X TP magnifier on a Patrol and it worked pretty well, but there was a slight loss of image quality/sensitivity.
