Magpul MBUS

Re: Magpul MBUS

I have a set and I don't really care for them . I realize they are a BUIS but they are kind of flimsy and you can tweak them without much effort at all . They don't even come close to Troy as far as quality goes . The upside is they are really light and cheap .

We thought maybe we could mount a ninja dust packet on them and you could use it as a catapult when you get in a jam , then you would be all "PRESTO DISSAPEARO !!" and launch it with the spring loaded feature . You could maybe use it to launch a dart or a marble as well

They don't compare to Troy but I really like them. They seem plenty durable, and I've whacked them a few good times with problems.

Re: Magpul MBUS

I have a rear MBUS on my Colt M4. It is designed to be a back up, and that is exactly what I use it for on the M4. To back up the optic.

I have several sets of the Troy BUIS and there is no comparison as far as quality. That said, I do think the MBUS is "good enough". I trust them to do the job, but if it was something I was going to be using constantly, I would spend the money for Troy sights.

Re: Magpul MBUS

I just sold a set of MagPul. They are very good for the money, but they are tall when folded. As far as being 'cheap plastic', I wouldn't worry. My daughter has a set of her carbine and they've survived all sorts of of abuse that would probably break many metal sights (I think Glock pretty much settled the plastic durability question long ago)

You can buy a complete set of MagPul MBUD for about 3/4 the cost of a Troy rear sight alone. If you are looking for backup sight, they are great. But as noted, they are around 0.650 folded versus about 0.460 for the Troy.
