Man Shoots Hogs With A Minigun.

Re: Man Shoots Hogs With A Minigun.

i doubt many people have the money to feed a mini gun regularly to "practice". i hope you not the same mike who posted "delete your video or delete your life".
ive never seen someone hunt with a mini gun, its intresting to me to say the least. how did he get the hogs to come in that close?

Re: Man Shoots Hogs With A Minigun.

Can't see the video, but I HIGHLY doubt it's "hunting" wild pigs. It's more of an extermination procedure. Unless you're raised around farms like I was, you have NO idea just how destructive wild pigs are to farmland and how fast they reproduce.

If that's directed at me, I don't recall saying anything like that.

I take it you guys don't remember the massive shit blizzard this video started a few months back? The guy behind the gun is a member here and posted it. It turned into a 6 page ethical debate.

Who was it 50cal?

Re: Man Shoots Hogs With A Minigun.

There is nothing unethical about protecting the natural environment from invasive species, nor protecting one's crops and animals in the same.

For a bunch of supposed conservationists, it always amazes me when people rant about proper application of conservation while using interesting ways to do it.

Hog hunting = fun
+Minigun = total fun

Totally fun-fun minigun awesomeness.

I concur they weren't good. But it's like a water hose with lead anyway, a lot more gets wet than the intent I suppose.

Re: Man Shoots Hogs With A Minigun.

I see no problem with it whatsoever....other than the fact that I don't own a minigun to do the same thing! Now that heli hunting hogs is legal that minigun would be a blast from the heli door.

If you still don't get it you need to either jump back in the brine or hang out with more dudes.

Don't worry, Veer thinks the world evolves around him... well, to be fair, he's about 2 Twinkies away from being able to replace Earth's gravitational pull with his own...

Re: Man Shoots Hogs With A Minigun.

A bit excessive, but it's his money.

I don't see how this is any worse than someone taking a shot at a running hog with a .223, hitting it in the belly, and leaving it to die an agonizing death as it crawls through the woods.

In fact, being vaporized by a cloud of bullets is actually more humane.

Funny to hear the hate that some have for hogs. Far too emotional.

Re: Man Shoots Hogs With A Minigun.

This has got to be some expensive bacon:

Figure minimum rate of fire of 2000 rounds/minute
Fired for roughly 12 seconds
Cost/round ~ .80/round
Minimum cost: $340 dollars
Shooting Hogs with a minigun = priceless

Post did seem shorter but I did not start the post. If you go to first video it allows you to see others on that account. This where I got the video and because people wanted to see more I posted it. I did not give my opinion on the video but I did hear everybody else's opinion. I ended up deleting the link to try to kill the thread and here we go again!!!!

"he was given a healthy dose of shit" didn't really see it that way

Re: Man Shoots Hogs With A Minigun.

That movie combines two of my favorite things. Bacon and mini-guns. Too bad I can only afford one of them!

He is using the splash like tracer and walking rounds onto the pig. He would get on em quicker if he had some tracer I think. Looks like it has an optical sight on top but come on how much fun would it be to take short aimed bursts? I say let er rrrrriiiiiip.

Re: Man Shoots Hogs With A Minigun.

I would love to be shooting the minigun with someone else paying for the ammo. As far as shooting the pigs that were released from a trailor...they are destructive, invasive and dead is dead, imho.

I think the problem is too many people have become soft and want to make animals people. However, animals are not people. I don't see animals taking into account their prey's feelings. I watched an eagle take one of my favorite chickens last week. Holy smokes...talk about brutal. Ate the chicken while it was still alive, after it de-feathered the bird in about 2 seconds. After two or three rips it flew off leaving me to dispatch the completely dismembered bird.

Furthermore, look at every other carnivore's hunting habits - brutal to the nth degree.

With this in mind, I agree with being a responsible hunter but videos like this one, don't bother me at all. In fact I would love to be able to hunt wild pigs but Washington doesn't have any, that I know of.

If animals aren't people, then we shouldn't judge animal 'brutality' by people standards - an eagle, or a wolf has no option or choice to act in any other way than the tools Nature has given it. There's no brutality in using fang or talon when that's all you've got. Those who cite 'oh wolves/coyotes are such vicious killers ergo we should kill them' are as every bit as emotional and irrational as those who say "oh wolves/coyotes are so fluffy and cute and we should let them do whatever they want."

Likewise, people shouldn't kill like animals when they can kill with a much higher degree of conduct.

releasing hogs from a trailer just seems very unsporting. Minigun is cool.

i think the pigs just happened to be there while he was just out having fun...so...may as well shoot them.

The M2 is fun especially at night with tracers, but I think I would have more fun using an M1919 instead on a herd of wild pigs.

If man has, by natural rights, dominion over animals, and they exist only for man's use, then there is no difference between swatting a mosquito and wiping out an entire species (Passenger Pigeon) for sport. No difference between shooting an animal and eating its flesh, and poaching one for its ivory.

On the other hand, if man is superior to the animals, shouldn't that superiority demand ethical treatment, i.e. harvest and husbandry combined?

Wild Hogs are a nuisance like Coyotes, kill them all…

Re: Man Shoots Hogs With A Minigun.

Those pigs were kicking and squealing a lot less than some hunting videos posted by folks hunting with conventional weapons.
I think that the ethical thing to do is legalize miniguns for hog hunting.

Re: Man Shoots Hogs With A Minigun.

honestly makes me a lil bit sick to watch. I have hunted since i was a boy, and my father taught me how to kill cleanly. The kind of shit seen on this video disgusts me, For the people saying hogs are a nuisance, so what. Hogs are a nuisance, that doesnt mean that you should act like a barbaric piece if shit in ridding the land of a nuisance. Completely disgusting

Re: Man Shoots Hogs With A Minigun.

Hey Battle Scarred.

The pigs tore my place up so bad you could see the damage on Google Earth. I bet your opinion of them would change if it was your property. What I see in the video is a lot better than shooting them only to see them run away injured which happens a LOT more than clean one shot kills. When I shoot at a pig, I open up on them hitting them until they are down. The end result is the same as this vid. Dead pig

You're a special kind of stupid, aren't ya? The hogs are far more than a nuisance. Maybe you should do some research on how badly feral hogs are destroying crops, how dangerous they are to people, etc. They need to be exterminated at all costs, by any means necessary.

Read the information contained on the following website before making another ignorant and uneducated comment.

They're dead, aren't they? Whether caught and wasted or killed out in the wild, the end result and benefit is the same. I doubt there are many, if any, who would disagree that feral hogs are nothing more than a larger form of a rat. They can be carrier of multiple diseases while ravaging crops and posing a danger to people, pets, and livestock.

Various diseases of wild hogs include pseudorabies, swine brucellosis, tuberculosis, bubonic plague, tularemia, hog cholera, foot and mouth disease, and anthrax. Internal parasites include kidney worms, stomach worms, round worms and whipworms. Liver flukes and trichinosis are also found in hogs. External parasites include dog ticks, fleas and hog lice.

Feral hogs are vermin so, please, spare me the P.E.T.A. speech.
