Well… I finally got my BA back (defiance ANTI X LA with 300PRC 24” proof Sendaro profile) from the gun smith and was really excited to get it bolted into my brand new manners LRH with MICRO chassis only to find that my barrel is making contact on the left side of the channel.

I’ve taken it off checked for debris moved it around and put it back together several times. As soon as the front action screw is torqued in the barrel kicks to the left. Any thought? Bad channel? Bad action screw angle? The stock is cut for a Remington 700 LA with sendaro profile barrel.

I’ve emailed manners with pictures and explanation tonight, we’ll see what they say. Unlikely I’ll get it sent to them and back in time to take it to the mountain this year.

Any advice??

Use a straight edge across as many of the stock surfaces as you can using the straight edges of the receiver inlet and mini chassis as a reference line. Then put the straight edge on your action and see if the barrel is crooked off of the action face.

How much contact? A dowel and a little sand paper will clean it up easily enough. I have had to open up barrel channels that were made for medium palma contour to Proof Comp and MTU. Doesn’t take long and you will have it for the mountains.
Enough that I can’t get a piece of paper under it. I’m hesitant to start sanding away on the stock due to how much the damn thing cost me lol. If worst comes to worst that’s my contingency plan but I’m really hoping to find another solution.

It’s what Manners will do. Lol I have done it to three or four Manner stocks. Doesn’t hurt anything. I hit it with a coat of spray paint to seal it after sanding. Wait to hear from Manners but that is an option I have used and it works.

Gave it a go and I’m not seeing any abnormalities, but I also don’t have the best eye for that kind of stuff. Thanks for the tip
