I picked up a used Marlin 7000 and took it to the range to see what ammo it liked.

This was someone's field gun and it shows use but is a nice shooter. I was using a new bench rest and not at my normal outdoor range. I think I can do better with some of the flyers below once I work out a few issues with the rest.
Target below is the best of 2 shoots.

very good shooting, somewhat surprising what the remington bucket of bullets ammo printed,if that ammo is consistent that is what I'd buy in bulk for everyday shooting, otherwise I'd stick with CCI SV, and use Wolf for special occasions. having said that, it is a matter of what ammo one can find. how much different is the 880 from the 7000?

Thanks, I've had good luck with the Remington bulk through the Marlins I own. The 7000 is a Semi Auto where the 880 is a bolt action. The 880SQ had a bull barrel that is similar to the one on the 7000 but appears to me to be longer.
