Marlin 795

Re: Marlin 795

I have two of them. On one I cut down the stock for my 6 y.o. daughter. Her's has a red dot, the other a Simmons 4x rimfire scope. Both are accurate, fun little plinkers. I did some trigger mods that I found on Rimfirecentral.com that helped out a decent amount. I also installed a DIP trigger in one after I screwed up the factory one. It helps somewhat with feel due to the design. They are not high quality but, a good little gun for the price.

I can't help but reply, get one get one get one!

I absolutely love my 795! Very accurate little plinker & such a great value. I've added a few things and heavily worked the trigger but most importantly a set of Williams Fire Sights to mine, I'm able to hit a shovel head @ 165yds nearly every time while prone with a bipod using CCI Blazer bulk. I'm sure you could shoot even better with a set of Tech Sights. Now I'm gonna have to take some pictures for you guys.

Re: Marlin 795

ryan,

I agree, great little gun! I'm 13 and just got mine last year so I'm still working on my accuracy but I've put at least a couple thousand rounds through mine and I absolutly love it! I got a cheap little Gamo scope initially but took it off in favor of the stock irons. It's a shame that they raised the price on it!

My setup :]

- Williams fiber optic Fire Sights

- Magazine wrapped with road bike inner tube to make it black/provide grip

- Pre-travel & over-travel screws threaded to trigger & trigger gaurd as well as lightened trigger

- 10/22 Ebay "muzzle brake" with washer welded onto the open end

Re: Marlin 795

Great looking rig! Mine is stock right now, but I'm going to upgrade it when my funds allow me to dump some cash on it. The only things I had put on it were a sling and a cheap 4x32 Gamo scope (no complaints, never had a problem with it while my dad has a Simmons and the reticle busted on him. (I abuse mine way more than he does)).

I've been considering putting a red dot on mine. What brand did you put on your daughters?

Sorry for the delay, forgot about this thread. Anyway, it is a cheap Tasco rimfire version red dot. Works well enough, plenty bright during sunlit days. The mount has a tendency to work loose so you need to keep an eye on it. I think I got it from Midway, about 35.00 or so.
