Marlin 982vs

So I picked up a used Marlin 982vs like the title states and have a couple of questions.

First I want to get the Tupperware stock swapped out for something nice in a wood thumb setup. Please let me know where I should look. So far I've found Boyd's for their offerings.

Other question is, the previous owner was a lefty and the trigger seems to be canted to the left. Is this something lefties do or is something up with the trigger?
