I have a Model 60, and for some reason it just refuses to feed the next round. It seems to feed CCI a little better than most, but otherwise its a 50/50 chance.

My questions are: What could be causing the failures to feed?

Could it be the rod is worn out?

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Marlin Model 60

30 plus years of chasing tree rats with a Marlin 60,
has shown it to be a reliable, durable, short range rifle.(35 yds max)
Any time it has had a problem with feeding or firing, the problem
has turned out to be GSR deposits in spots where it shouldn't have any.
The cure? Disassemble and clean out anything that's not original
paint or original metal. Don't forget inside the feed tube.
Barrel heat will transfer to the feed tube and melt the wax lube
on subsonic ammo. Wax will build up in the tube and attract dirt
which can interfere with the movement of ammunition.
