Marlin sucks since bought by Remington

Re: Marlin sucks since bought by Remington

I appreciate this guys opinion but:
1. It's not anti-American to put out a bad product, just bad quality. There are literally thousands of bad American products.
2. I can't in good conscience take a guy with an EOtech mounted on a 45-70 seriously.

Re: Marlin sucks since bought by Remington

I love my 336 in .35 Remington! I bought it used, not sure of the date of manufacture but it has a button safety on the receiver, above the trigger. I would guess it predates the Cerberus takeover of Remington-Marlin-Bushmaster-New England Firearms-H&R, etc.

It was only $200.00, looked barely used and had a hanging tag on it that was marked .30-30! I really didn't need another 30-30 but I didn't own a Marlin. The price was damn sure excellent!

When I got it home I started looking it over a little more carefully and found the barrel roll marks "Marlin 336CS Micro Groove Barrel Cal. .35 Rem"

And I laughed!

I ordered a Williams receiver sight like those I put on my two 94s and have found it to be a great and accurate rifle.

No regrets at all!

500Grains,

Do you have a problem with a new Marlin rifle as well?

Re: Marlin sucks since bought by Remington

took about four hours of my time, a dremel tool, and some fine grit sandpaper to clean up the action on my 1895SBL last year, and I dumped that horrible looking rail in favor of some Skinner Sights.

The inside of the action was never finished, just roughly cut out. foregrip is too short, so it wiggles (fixed that real quick), and the magazine tube foreend has this really nasty habit of slipping around. always have to check it to make sure my magazine tube hasn't slipped completely out of its slot in the barrel. Once I get enough experience with redneck rigging my gun, it's gonna be an awesome bear stomper. Until then, I'm using my pre-remington 1894 in 44Rem Mag as my truck/hike/brush gun. Accurate as can be with just the original buckhorns, plus it throws a nice shot pattern with #7.5 birdshot for the Spruce Chickens. Who could ask for more?
