If you have purchased or are thinking about purchasing a Marlin XT22 RZ (synthetic stock with FACTORY threaded barrel), be sure to check the thread Pitch.
I was at a gun show this weekend and Purchased one of these rifles and found that the threads were 1/2" x 20tpi NOT 1/2" 28 tpi. When I returned to the show I found that every one of them I could find were also threaded wrong. This is a factory defect found in some of the first units produced.
This is not a product bashing. In fact, I like and use Marlin arms. I just want to make other members aware of this. Marlin advertises 1/2"-28 on their site and will replace the gun or you can get a thread adapter to fix the problem.
