MATEN 308/MAGPUL PRS stock Overall Length\Deluxe Lockable Voodoo Tactical 42-inch Case?

OK I am down to barrel length on my MATEN 308 build and I have thrown this around over and over and I wanted to know if you guys could give me some over all weapon lengths from your rifles so I can get an idea of what will fit in my VooDoo Case.

I have a MATEN 308 with a MAGPUL PRS stock, I am debating between an 18 or a 20 in barrel length but I would really like to be able to carry this rifle in my soft case above and not have to lug it around in the Pelican case. (Yes I understand I could just buy a new soft case) 18 vs 20 barrel from what I can see and I am going to do with gun should be not too much of a difference, but one is going to have a mid length gas, and one will be rifle so if I can fit the 20 with rifle I will go that way. I am planning on running a Surefire socom muzzle device.....

Go 18! There is no appreciable gain from going with the 20" ballistically. The 18" will be handier and make the rifle balance better. I have built 8 Matens and only 1 was a 20". The 20" tube averaged only 20fps faster which to me was not worth the extra 2". An 18" barrel and the PRS will fit in a 42" soft case with no issues. I have a 42" Voodoo and it's perfect.
