I was reading about these bullets, listed BC is .7828.

Can that be real. If that's the case it would remain super sonic past 2000 yards assuming a MV of 2600 fps out of a 270 Winchester.

I figure one would need a 1:8 twist but that sounds like one long range PD gun.

Anyone try them?

The research i have done suggests that the BC at 3,000fps is more like .700. I am still doing load developement for my rifle so i haven't tested the BC myself yet at long range. My buddy has tested them at 2,780fps out of his 270 Win and he says the bc is only slightly higher than their 165 gr VLD that has a tested bc of .650. Both our barrels are Benchmark 5R 9 twists and the research suggests they will stabilize the 175's just fine. You might want to give the 165's a try. Guys are doing good with the 10 twist and the 165's.

MuleHunter;

Thanks, I think you're right. I'll probably go to the 165s and see how they work in my 1:10 Model 70.

Gonna do some testing. Seems people are getting closer to .600 then the .700+ Matrix advertises.

If that's the case I'm not really seeing much of an advantage over the Hornady 150 SST's when you figure the starting MV difference between the 150s and 165s.

But its worth looking into, worse comes to worse, I'll have fun playing.
