Hey,
I just wanted to get some feedback on a new build I started.
Its an Interarms Mark X action with a Timmney feather weight
Trigger, Shilen 1.250"x 28" match .243 barrel 1/8 twist. The stock was an old beat up laminate that I had refinished. My first camo job so far. I was thinking about mounting a Wotac 4-14x on it but haven't decided yet. The reviews are kinda mixed for that optic but it seems to have all the options i'm looking for within my budget.
Thanks for looking
Jake

Re: Mauser build

That is a very nice action to build on, I have done several mauser builds, and done 2 on interarms mark-x actions. A very good upgrade that is not too expensive and will improve group sizes is the Tubb speedlock. Also the Bell and Carlson varmint tactical stock will help accuracy also. Good luck

Re: Mauser build

Nice.. Ive been looking for a McMillan A-3 style stock but no luck.
Since i'm a machinist by trade i'm looking into how hard it would be to mill an Accuracy Int. style chassis that will accept the AI skins. I however cannot find the chassis dimensions online.

Re: Mauser build

If you could come up with an AI chassis that would fit mauser and would use AI or clone mags you would have something, I beleive you would have a lot of people in line for one including me. Mausers are great rifles but they are limited when it comes to tactical style accessories, especially stocks. The Bell & Carlson is the best thing out there right now, I talked to them at the shot show in 2008 and asked them if they were planning on making their A-5 stock for mauser and they did not seem to interested, I am sure they would sell tons of them. If you look on midway the varmint tactical B&C Mauser stocks are on backorder last time I looked. That means people are buying them, I wish they would make the A-5 I would restock a few Of my mausers.

Re: Mauser build

I agree the amount of tactical style mauser parts is limited. My only problem is I cannot find any dimensions for the stock chassis. If any owners could chime in with specs that would be great..
