Fieldcraft maybe a dumb range estimation question

Re: maybe a dumb range estimation question

What optic? It all depends on the optic. Is it FFP or SPF?

A FFP optic can be used on any power setting mil a target.

A SFP optics can only be used on ONE setting (normally max power) to mil a target, unless you know its half power... which is another story.

Set up a known target range/known target size, then see which power zoom coincides correctly with the known data.

Reverse engineering....mebbe?

Re: maybe a dumb range estimation question

I get confused easy these days but I thought the Falcon scopes were front focal plane and the reticle changes in size as the power is changed.

In that case the scope mils at any power but high power makes it a bit easier.
