After lurking around the hide for the past year or so and finally getting my rifle that I have been piecing together machined and assembled I thought I would it share with some people that would truly appreciate it. In the corps the M40a5 was my bread and and butter and was the base for my build. This is my first rifle I have built and wouldn't have been able to do it without the wealth of knowledge I have gathered from this site, so, thank you all for that.
-McMillan G30 Long Action .300WM
-McMillan A5 Tactical Stock
-McMillan 20Moa Rail
-Kreiger #10 Chromoly 1:12 twist 4 Groove, 27.5" cut length
-Surefire SOCOM Muzzle Break/ suppressor adapter
-Jewell Trigger, set at 2 lbs.
-Badger Ordnance M5 bottom metal, flush
-Badger Ordnance embedded front rail (EFR)
Currently the rifle is at Robar getting its fancy new coatings, awesome company to deal with by the way, and i will post finished pics when I get it back.
I am in the process of picking a optic for this rifle and am torn between the US Optics LR3.2-17x 44 or the S&B PMII 4-16x50. My main use of this rifle will be on steel out to the 1600yd mark. Any input would be appreciated, and again, Thank you all for the knowledge that I have pulled from this site so far.
