All, I’m considering the purchase of a McMillan hunting rifle for a project
I’m UK based and having some difficulty searching info
The rifle in question is currently in 270 and looks to have walnut stock but could be painted over fibreglass
It’s long action with BDL floorplate and has straight fluted bolt and MCMillan square cocking piece
It’s dated 1991 from proof record in the UK
I know some of the McMillan rifles are better than others
Could anyone with knowledge stateside comment on the quality of the earlier rofles produced (I think this was done by Harris Gunworks though frustratingly there’s no image of the left side of receiver)
The action has a squared rear tang and the bolt handle is a dog leg type that is pretty typical for that era (on other brand sporters )
The main question I have is;
Is the long action McMillan likely to have similar or same hole spacing as a Rem Long Action
Does the McMillan action of this era (1991) accept rem hook up triggers
Thabks in advance
