McMillian stock fill vs Manners

Hello all of ya,
I’m trying to get info on the McMillian Stock fill vs Manners. I’m planning on getting an A3 adjustable to run in a long action 28 nosler with possibility of going .30 cal magnum in the future and am concerned about the recoil and fill durability. I know McM offers different fill grades “standard” and “sniper” but how does the Manners fill look, is it fiberglass or foam? If anybody ownes both any comment on stiffness, such as the forend barrel “pinch” test as I call it squeezing the stock to the barrel moderately and comparing the deflection. Pics of the inlet / fill would be appreciated. Coming from a whiskey 3 and previously only shot chassis only so no real experience with MCS or MCM

The constructions are more or less the same. Regardless of what advice you get here, a call to each manufacturer is in order, so they understand your specific application. Each does ask what caliber the rifle will be for example. If they dont think the shape you want will work with a receiver and barrel inlet, they’ll say so. Lack of rigidity is simply not something usually associated with either maker though.


On a personal note, after buying many many Mcmillan stocks(mostly A series), and just a few Manners up to this point, i’m more fond of Manners.
