Hello from NZ,

How many weights, what barrel length and what contour are you running on your ACC elite?

I have had mine for 6 months, it started as a 1.2" straight contour 28" long barrel. it is now a 26" comp contour. full set of internals and 2x external sets.

I have struggled with getting the right weight distribution to have no reticle 'wobble' positional shooting. I have handled other rifles and I don't have to focus as hard to get less than 1/10th of reticle wobble. I am a very experienced positional shooter.

Am thinking I need more weight forward.... how are your rifles balanced?

Cheers!

Damn she would be heavy!
I'm running a 26" 1.25" straight with only the pair of external weights toward the mag well and balances about 4" in front of the mag well.
Mine comes in at about 10kg.
The best I've found once it's balanced, add weight from centre outward, rather than balancing the rifle by adding weight to the extremities (butt/forend tip).
Then any wobble I'll take out by clamping the gun to the bag with my thumb wrapped over the bridge.
Also what fill bag are you using?

I’m running no weights with a 26” comp contour. Balances good enough on a heavy Schmedium. I wouldn’t mind if the CoG was another inch or two forward, but I don’t want to increase overall weight any more. edit, just checked - with no muzzle device or mag in, it balances 2" in front of the magwell.

That looks wicked mate, and the gold TMB is sweet! I did remove the butt spacer, more so for my T-Rex arms but did drop a bit of weight from the rear.
The bridges aren't to everyones taste, but that's what gives me most control over the wobble and keeping the rifle on target once the shot breaks. Ive tried hand on the scope bell, and thumb clamping down on a side weight and always found myself either inducing wobble or cant.

I run Impact action, ZCO 5-27, 26" M24 (6CM) with full internal weight and 2x external mounted on the fore-end. Also a set of baker wings. Rifle is dead stable, though heavy at 23.5lbs. Also running the spacer on the rear as I have a giraffe neck and need the push back to get into the eye-box.

Balances on the back of a folding chair with a Schmedium game changer no problem. I've found if you're picky about the balance point, using a chair (1" tube, basically) is a better predictor of balance than a wide surface like a 2x4 or ladder, which can provide more support/distribution.

I run the one-piece internal and 1 lb of externals as far forward as possible. Really don't understand the advice to start with weights near the COG, they have far less influence on balance point there; if you want to move the COG forward, you need weights out front. Either some weight way out front (longer barrels, heavier muzzle devices, big tuners) or lots of weight closer in (usually limited by the density of common steel weights).

My balance point varies between my different setups since I only use the one chassis, but even with my least favorable configuration (the Vudoo MTU-V at 22" with an ATS Competition tuner) the COG is inside the tips of a Shmedium. Would love for it to be 1-2" further forward, but cranking on a 26" true MTU contour barrel was only worth about an inch.

Don't know if that helps, but I do run the internal and see no reason to remove it. Rig runs 20-22 lbs with empty mag, depending on the setup.

I have recently adjusted the side to side and height of my ACC butt pad. Due to my chest/shape and scope elevation, I found I wasn’t pushing directly forward when loading the rifle, so recoil movement was not straight back. Always something to learn I guess.
