MDT acc or krg whiskey?

Need some help. I can’t make up my mind on which out of the two chassis in the title to buy.
Seems like there’s a of versatility in both chassis. Have to buy the modular grip from mdt which I really like. I’m assuming mdt will not run aw mags so I’ll have to buy a couple 10rd aics mags. Krg offers an extended mag latch that I can modify myself in order to run my aw mags I already own and really like as well.

I want a chassis for the versatility and add on accessories as needed easily. Also run a m24/Mtu contour barrel and not worry about opening up my manners barrel channel. I want to switch to Arca spec attachments and again don’t want to alter my current stock.

Any help from you guys would be appreciated. Any pros or cons you can think of for the two chassis mentioned.

The krg is awesome, my buddy has one and can literally fall asleep on it. He has a mdt and an xlr as well, the other two sit in a box collecting dust

I have both. And use both in matches. You can run AW mags in either one no problem. I do. I also run an mtu so no clearance issues there. The arca is built in the forend on the ACC where the krg is optional. I run an ergo grip on my ACC and it’s nice that it’s compatible with ar15 grips so you aren’t locked into one grip. I have the folder on my ACC and like that it’s bolt side locking vs krg is not. Without the enclosed forend or spigot the length of the krg forend is a little short.

One cool factor that’s little talked about on the krg is you can swap the buttstock to a bravo rear end if you want to shed some weight and take the rifle hunting or a long field match.

The krg overall is a lighter chassis and while you can add weight you can’t get it nearly as heavy as the ACC. Just depends on how you like to run your rifles.

I prefer the adjustments on the krg rear because you can cant the buttpad without unscrewing it. Also, I’ve had the thumbwheels on the ACC loosen slightly. Nothing major though and they can be replaced with set screws but I often let other people shoot my rifles so I don’t want to do that.

Both have top notch customer service and are active here on the hide. I’d sad it’s a pick your poison as they’re both awesome!

That’s going to be more caliber specific than chassis/stock specific in my experience. Needless to say I haven’t had a problem with either.

Its like answering the question of "I just went to college and left home for the first time, and I have a choice between stabbing down a hot 18 year old red head from Ireland, an 18 year old Japanese chick who says she's still a virgin and isn't leaving my dorm room until I fix it, and a Brunette who is a national shooting champion...what do I do?"

The answer is "Yes".

And to be frank we all have different uses for this shit. For me, 1 lb of weight means something, but I still need all of the features of a good LR rig. Thats why the proof barrel, and the lighter optic, and the titanium suppressor, and the KRG chassis.

Then again - other folks I shoot with go even lighter with a tikka and the original stock...or MUCH heavier with the MPA BA6.5 factory boat anchor. And I see plusses in all that they do.

Man, that doesn´t help if someone is in the market for his first chassis.

2. Our W-3 comes with ambi QD points at the rear and a left side QD cup at the front. These are steel and not cut into aluminum.

3. The chassis comes with a bag rider. We offer several different ones if you want a particular style.

4. The W-3 comes with different grip set included that is a larger size

5. Our chassis are made in the USA, that doesn't mean something to everyone but to some it does mean something

6. Nothing you could have known but we have things coming...

I have owned your products in the past, I know from personal experience your products and CS are first class. I will own your product again. I only moved away from your product because another platform fit my current needs better.

I've been running a lefty W-3 for over a year and a half .love it!
It fits me because I get the feel of a stock which the ergonomics of a chassis.
Thumb shelf and length of pull situates me for a good 90 degree pull straight back.

Chassis are definitely not a one design fits all, we even have two different ergonomic styles (Bravo vs W-3/X-ray). Cheekpiece shape is a key area that is often overlooked.

We always tell guys we can only go so far in getting it perfect to each particular shooter. We encourage guys to grind on it, build it up with epoxy in spots, whatever is needed. Some guys just need a different platform and that's ok. This is a golden era in long range and it's fun to be part of it.

@that_dude_ryanmichael looks outstanding and I'm happy to see you kept the rings at a normal height as that's what the forend cutout was intended for. Thank you for your business.

I sure did keep them at normal height. I did slide my scope back 1 pic rail slot in order to run my front scope caps. No big deal there

Something else overlooked on the KRG is the adjustable mag well. If youve ever jammed your rifle into a bag and had mag tilt and feeding issues you can adjust a lot if not all of that out with KRGs adjustable mag well.

Also why pay for things that you will never use? There is a small percentage of people on these boards who need an NV rail, some prefer no spigot, some dont use arca. Why pay for items you dont need? Id rather have a cheaper chassis/stock with the essentials but have the ability to add what I need instead of an all or nothing.
