Recently picked up an MDT ESS chassis that has a 12" forend on it. I prefer the longer forend, so I ordered a 15" forend from MDT. It's on the way now.
I'm impatient.....
I'd like to order and have on hand the Area 419 ARCA lock rail for it waiting to put together at once. Curious if anyone has a 15" forend without a rail on it that can post a pic of the bottom side with a tape measure strung across it. *OR* Anyone that has the MDT ESS with an Area 419 12" ARCALOCK rail, did you use the Universal rail from Area 419, or the 12" M-LOK?

Area 419's website says the 12" M-LOK rail needs 7 consecutive slots for the rail to fit correctly. (unless I'd guess it overhangs or needs some filing / milling of the M-LOK protrusions for it to sit in the slots correctly.

Appreciate any info from anyone with the ESS chassis.

I dont have the ess but I do have the xrs.

I went with the universal because I wanted to guarantee that those little bumps wouldnt interfere with the non identical number of slots as well as the solid gap to the first mlock close to the mag well that I wanted covered.

From what I can tell the ess doesnt have that issue getting it close to the back but the sling stud gap may (I say likely) cause some conflict?

The universal can still attach with the same screws in the same central locations, it just doesnt have potential for interference.

Thanks @spife7980. I've got a universal on another rifle which I'll probably take off to look at once the MDT forend gets here. I was trying to sort that out prior. The swivel sling stud will be factory deleted but I think with the info from MDT above, I'm all set. Sounds like the universal is the best option.
