Hi fellow shooters

I just installed my MDT carbine to carbine dual lock adaptor, found it wobbles a significant bit in the firing position. I read it was solid before commencing the purchase, so I am assuming my experience here is an anomaly?

Does yours wobble? If so does it do so from new or this is something developed over time?

Thank you

Francis

wonder what does the screw hole on the aluminum part do?

Available in 1-way or a 2-way locking configuration. The 1-way lock maintains solid, straight-line integrity when shooting while the 2-way lock provides the additional function of holding the stock securely in the folded position.
To me this seems to say that the 2way is wobbly.

I have the MDT carbine-to-carbine adapter on a carbine I have (that doesn't need a buffer/buffer tube/recoil spring to function) and it locks solidly both open and closed.

@MDT_Josh can you chime in on this?
Yep, thanks for the tag!

What we mine by that is that the one-way locking folder is locked rigidly in place when ready to fire, but will not lock when you fold it. The two-way locking folder will lock rigidly when ready to fire, as well as locking rigidly in place when folded against the side of your chassis :)

@frankprstw to answer your question, there should be ZERO wobble in that interface when it is deployed and ready to fire. The two possible causes of wobble are: 1.) incorrectly made/assembled components or 2.) incorrect installation to the buttstock or chassis (or both).

What I would suggest is that you contact our customer support team (1-604-393-0800) and send them pictures or videos of the wobble so that they can help you diagnose the issue :) We will make it right though and ensure that you have a quality product on your firearm!

Thanks Josh

I installed the adaptor following your video which is pretty straight forward and clear. I would imagine installation is ok as

Interface between Chassis and adaptor : no movement
Interface between adaptor and buffer tube : no movement
Gap between the folding parts : varies between 0-0.2mm when stock/buffer tube is moving. This magnifies to several millimeters of butt stock movements

Established contact with your ppl via facebook account, sent the following
2 videos of different angles showing wobble
1 video me operating the folder per his request
My oder number per his request

Awaiting for instructions on next steps

OP, MDT will look after you. As @MDT_Josh recommended, use the links/info he provided to contact their customer service team - don't try to troubleshoot here.

I've asked a number of questions of them over the four years I've been involved with this rifle addiction and had one issue with a pair of MDT magazines - very few outfits come close to MDT's customer service.

Understood and if you have reached out to them via Facebook, that is excellent as they will work with you to get everything squared away :D Sounds like there is just a few parts on the edge of tolerance that are sacking to give you issues, so we may need to replace them for you!
