Hi brains trust. Surely someone here has fitted a MDT flush 3 round 308 polymer magazine into a short action Hawkins Hunter DBM?

Its very close to fitting but the magazine catch seems to protrude too much to get past the latch or fit into the slot the surrounds the latch. Im unsure whether to sand the catch down slightly or make it fit some other way. I cant imagine i'm the first to try this, before i ruin the magazine im wondering if anyone has any tips?!

I just did this tonight. I installed a Hawkins Hunter DBM into a Paradigm Carbon stock with an AnTi X short action.
The Hawkins magazine was terrible. The rounds would get hung up on the bottom of the action, even with the half moon notch that I previously put into the action to enable feeding long rounds. Also, upon ejecting a round, the next round in the mag would come up and catch the ejected round, effectively stove piping, wherefore I would then have to manually clear it.

An MDT poly 3 round mag would not fit into the DBM, so I carefully used a dremel to modify the plastic nub on the back of the MDT mag. I narrowed it up slightly and then cut away around 1/16" off the bottom of the nub. It now fits into the DBM fully, latches and feeds perfect. Dont be scared. A little modification and the MDT's work great.

Legendary thanks for this. When you say taken off the ‘bottom’ you mean trim the tip of it so it sticks out less?
Trimmed the bottom, meaning the lower portion of the nub. I did not take off any of the height of it, which would reduce the amount of purchase that the DBM would have in securing it. If you put a poly mag in, it’s pretty apparent what ya need to do. Just take a bit off at a time and try it.
