Can anyone attest to a noticeable difference in accuracy between 52gr boat tail and 53gr flat base out of a .223?

You'll see it at distances past 350 or so, not so much the weight, but the bullet shape. Flat bases can absolutely hammer on the short range, but the boat tail is back there for a reason....

I bought a box of 100 of each a while back. Just finished up the last of my 52 SMKs, and they really rock. I was getting avg 3130 fps out of my AR with an 18" barrel, and they group pretty tight at 100. Could still get consistent hits out to 400 with them. For the 53s, I don't have much data on them, but the last time I shot them at 200, I really couldn't tell much difference between them and the 52s. I think it is like sobrbiker said; the difference may be seen at the further distances, where the 52s are better.
