Gunsmithing Mesa Precision Arms carbon fiber stock barrel channel

Hello I'm looking at this stock for a project but need a M40 ish barrel channel. Can this barrel channel be opened up like fiberglass stocks by sanding ? I bought a carbon barrel in 45 cal so the OD is much larger.

FYI, AG Composites makes those stocks. The “varmint” barrel channel works with Proof Sendero, M24, and similar profiles (which includes M40). I don’t think you’ll have an issue, but calling Mesa or AG wouldn’t hurt.

Regarding opening the channel further, it’s possible you’d be removing some carbon at the edges but it’s mostly filler material you’d be removing.
