Started out with a bone-stock FEG PJK-9HP I bought about 5 years ago at the LGS for $250. Glossy blue finish, black plastic grip panels, 7# trigger and God-awful hammer bite. Accuracy was acceptable though.
Just got done with some Covid-induced tinkering that included C&S hammer, wide-face trigger and sear, removed the magazine cutoff, some time with a Cape chisel stippling it and some Al oxide 120g and KG Gunkote in flat OD and Coyote brown.
Under $400 invested, including 4 17rd and 3 13rd mags. She now has a crisp 4# trigger and feels much more secure when shooting. Still get a little hammer bite, but nowhere near as bad. As a long-time 1911 shooter, this sure does feel pretty good for a 9.
