What is the lightest barrel that is .775 or slightly less at 18"? Perhaps a Krieger Light Palma? I need a short, tight bore .30 caliber blank for an 18" rifle that is light but still mounts a Surefire 762SS adapter. Unfortunately I can't find information on diameters except near the muzzle on nearly any barrel.

Thanks.

Re: Mid-weight barrel question.

Assuming that the taper is linear, take the diameter at the muzzle of the blank (any length) and subtract it from the diameter of the barrel at the start of the taper. Call this "x". Divide "x" by the length of the tapered portion of the barrel. Call this "y". This value will be the change in diameter per inch of barrel over the tapered section.

Subtract 18" from the length of the barrel blank, and multiply this value by "y". This will give you the change in muzzle diameter from then end of the blank to the 18" mark. Add this to the muzzle diameter of the blank, and you should have a close idea of the diameter of the contour you are looking at when 18" long.
