As I have been saying, I'm new to long range shooting and I just got my first rifle. It's a Remington 700 SPS Varmint .308. I had another post about bases and rings and one about buying my first scope and learned quite a bit. Thanks everyone. I'm thinking of going with the Millet 6x-25-56mm LRS1. It's more then the Buckmaster that I had previously planned on buying, but it's got a lot more MOA (140) adjustment which I've learned I'll need to get out to 1000. I've read some really good reviews on it. According to the reviews it's really clear and some people were taking it out to 1700 yards. Just wanted some opinions from some of you guys, especially if you have one.

Re: Millet 6x-25x56mm LRS1

You don't need 140moa to get to 1000yds with a 308. A 20moa base is a good investment if you are going to be shooting at that range much.

I can't comment on that scope, as I've never had one. ... but I will offer this piece of advice:

Read more. Read a LOT more.

Re: Millet 6x-25x56mm LRS1

last thread on the LRS guy got 43 rounds before it broke. my TRS was broken out of the box. use search and type in millett, its been talked about already.

TRS-1 needs a 20moa. they claim 90moa, but thats another thread (thats already been discussed) and i was told that i may have limited windage. but thats just what i was told.

good news is warranty from Bushnell is really good

Re: Millet 6x-25x56mm LRS1

I've read a lot of the things on the forum already about millet scopes in general and other specific millet models, didn't see anything on this one yet. Like EVERY other scope I have looked at, most of the comments are great with some people having problems and some people who haven't owned them but don't like them. On top of the performance mostly being great, the customer service evidently is also. I've read a lot, not just on this forum. I know I don't need 140 MOA to shoot to 1000 yards, but I would like to have it. And I would like to shoot 1000 yards with a standard base and not a 10 or 20 MOA. I'm sure it's fine using MOA bases, I just would like to not have to.
