Thinking about getting a spare slide for my 1911 commander to send it to my smith for a milling job so not too concerned about compatibility with other footprints.

Any reason to go either the RMRcc vs a 507K ? Beside the whole made in China thing ?

My path was to get one of the Ed Brown premilled slides and modify the mount for the RMRcc.

With the small window of the cc version misalignment of the sights will hide the dot. Consistent grip is imperative to quickly picking it up. I have shot the 1911 platform enough that sight alignment is fairly automatic with the correct grip. However, continuing with my ingrained practice of aligning the irons and then using the dot seems to work well.
