does anyone have the new model thinking of getting the tactical version, got some q first how accurate is it not looking for a tack driver just something that i can hit a coyote at 100 or so yards, 2nd what ammo works good in it, read some reviews about the accuracy sucks but they were using wolf ammo im not going to use that sh*ty ammo, and 3rd how does the shell eject to the side or straight up dont want the shell hitting the scope any info would be great

Re: mini 14

The "Tactical" Mini is just a standard Mini-14 with a black synthetic stock and a flash hider...nothing special or "enhanced" about the rifle itself versus the standard Mini. They will achieve (more or less) the same accuracy as any rack-grade Mini (which usually equates to between 2-3MOA with decent ammo). They are more than accurate enough for coyote use out to 100yds or so, but you aren't going to win any accuracy contests.

As for decent ammo...any US-made commercial ammo should work well, but like any rifle, YMMV. Hornady TAP, BH, or Federal will likely get you the best accuracy with 69gr and lighter bullets (IIRC, the Mini has a 1:9 twist so I wouldn't go any heavier than the 69gr). For plinking, Federal XM193 or its commercial equivalent 55gr stuff will do fine.

Finally, they eject out to the side for the most part just like the vast majority of semi-auto centerfire rifles on the market these days.

Re: mini 14

the tactical model has a 16 inch barrel the ranch rifle and standard model have 18 inch. the rifling is a 1-9 twist apparently ruger has improved the accuracy since I have saw several at the range shooting around 1.5 inch at 100 yds.
I was spotting for a guy shooting black hills 69 grain red box and he was shooting less than an inch pretty consistent.for your intended purpose I think you will be fine.

Re: mini 14

Here in CA, I bought my son a Mini so we can compete in some local 2 gun matches, they are okay. just the triggers are awful and the iron sight are fair at best, but we can hit a 8-10" bong at 100yds on a regular basis.
