Hello I’m looking to purchase between the 2 for long range shooting. From what I understand this forum hasn’t liked IOR in the passed for a few issues but they seem to have cleaned things up. I’ve done some research between the 2 and they both look impressive. Looking to put a scope on a .338LM. I want to do some long range shooting. If anyone has experience with the 2 of them I would like to hear. Thank you!

Is the nightforce 7-35, priced close to these 2 you picked?

1500 yards to 2000 yards don’t have much more range than that. And Minox is 2800 and the recon G2 about the same
I have experience with 3 Minoxigm. I’ve been on this site for 15 years and everything I’ve read reinforced the notion that IOR is an Eastern Block quality optic. It’s a piece of shit, more or less. The Minox is a base model Tangent Theta. It has superior glass, the reticles are clean and simple, it is waterproof down to 25m, tracks perfect. The turrets are basic, nothing fancy. The newer ones removed 66% of the resistance when transitioning into the second turn. And if you don’t like that still, you can always disable the 2nd turn indicator by pulling the pin out of the turret cap.
I actually shot a match this weekend with Paul from pmac precision. He and Dave run the valdada. From what I was told they are not associated with IOR just had the same importer or something along those lines. The parts are made in Germany and assembled in Japan and the objective lens is made in Japan. The 40 mm main tune is huge and lets in a lot of light. Those guys are good shooters and swore by that scope. If I didn’t have a tangent I’d check one out for sure. He sells them with arc rings for around 2900
Comparing the IOR to any of the top tier scope manufacturers tends to get you a similar response here on the hide: don't even both with the IOR. If you're looking to spend $2,800 and don't want to go NF then I would pick up a used Schmidt 3-27 High Power which can be found around that price. Another good option would be the Steiner M7 as well.
Between the two you're asking about I would go Minox every day of the week.
If what Dan says is true then it might be worth looking at, but I wouldn't buy one new. The used market will reflect what that scope should actually be worth, because it hasn't been too gentle in the past. Let it do that first.

Last year I waiting around for my Minox ZP5 5-25x56 to come in and after six months I was offered to buy a NF 7-35 ATACR which I did.
Sometimes it's best to just go with your own opinion and buy what You want. I've owned and/or still own every top tier scope out there over the years, and everybody has their own opinion. Nothing wrong with making your own decision, besides you'll use it, test it out and in the end you'll have you own opinion on it....... Shouldn't that be what matters anyway?
