Just an FYI to anyone interested.

As most are aware Luke Volkmann formerly of Volkmann Custom split off from his previous partner a while back and Fortunatly for us all he is still building some of the sweetest 1911 pistols around.....Period. His new company is called Volkmann Precision.
Be aware of 1911s sold after the split. It is a fact that his ex partner/Gun Room is still selling 1911 pistols under the name Volkmann Custom, He sells them by representing/ showcasing articles written about Volkmann custom pistols when Luke Volkmann was building the pistols under that name. Problem is there is no pistol smith named Luke Volkmann.....THE NAMESAKE of the gun involved.
Bottom line fellas, if you really want an authentic Volkmann which truley are amongst the best hand assembled and built pistols being built today, make sure your are getting a Volkmann Precision gun ,built by Luke in Littleton Co.

Yawn.

If you don't know your gunsmith personally, you deserve whatever you get.

I know mine, because I look at him in the mirror most of the time. And if it isn't my gunsmithing, it's Matt Cheely's, and I know him personally as well.

Sadly, that's why one should always get a lawyer involved whenever things turn legal...starting a company up with a partner tends to be a good time to pay someone for good advice, so you can avoid this sort of mess.

Does he not find it disturbing that you watch him in the mirror?

I bet when you get done looking in the mirror there are lip prints all over it.

Perhaps, but if you do your own work, you have only yourself to blame if it's jacked up. And I'm much more willing to take my time and do a good job on my own stuff.

Understandable. On that note, I'm going to head out to the garage right now for some refinishing.
