I have a question about mixing my jute with mesh fabric for the human body distortion effect. I hunt in areas that are very dense with fir, ferns, moss etc. (think ceder swamps of northern Michigan and the cypress swamps of south Louisiana) The stalker suit I am making is primarily Hunter green (as the base color) with dark brown and olive drab mixed and smattering of khaki. It is the head piece that has me puzzled.(pic 1) I have used Mossy Oak netting for the most part with some jute interspersed, but I hesitant to about having one type fabric for the head and another for the body. I was hoping for some good advice. I've posted 3 pics so you all can see what I mean
Pic 1 is the head piece 2 and 3 is with and without. [img:center]

Re: Mixing jute / mesh fabrics when making ghillies

Really all you need is a little bit of jute/burlap to help break up the outline. Too much adds weight and makes you look like the boogie monster.

Then natural vegetation for camo.

I don't hunt with a ghillie as animals aren't as intelligent as humans on detecting a person. It's usually the scent they pick up, not your outline.
