MK12 Build Post 1,200rds With Parts List.

Hey guys,

Just wanted to share my MK12 style build after 1,200rds
Parts

My MK12 is far from “clone correct”. I wanted the performance of the MK12 first, and the looks second. This build was started in the late part of the pandemic (October 2020). Most clone correct parts were out of stock or out of my price range. From tip to butt the rifle is made up of:

AE Brake and collar.

AE AEM5 Suppressor

KAK Muzzle brake (replaced)

Ballistic Advantage 18” SPR Barrel 1:7

Ballistic Advantage .750 LP Gas Block

Ballistic Advantage melonite gas tube

12” PRI Forearm

12” PRI TOP Rail

Unnamed upper and lower receivers

B5 systems buffer kit and stock

Strike Industry LPK

Geissele SSA Trigger


Rifle will not cycle TulAmmo. I get the best accuracy using above 55gr.
I mostly feed Hornady Black 62gr. I did fire 50rds of the MK262 and the results were amazing. Ive including
some groupings between 300, 500, 700 and 800 yards using 75gr Fiocchi.

Those targets shot as posted? from 300, 500, 700 and 800? If so those are remarkably small groups, especially for 5.56 and a BA tube.

I've been thinking about building a Mod 0 clonish upper for a while. I may be able to my hands on a barrel and some parts from a local source.

Kee TulAmmo away from a sniper rifle. The rifle works best 1;7 twist and 77 grain ammo. Even better with Black Hills 77 grain Mk252, but the heavier the pill, the better the long range accuracy. I think something about the weight and length of the bulllet, and the fact that it goes transsonic earlier than a 55 grain pill gives it better predictability in where it hits and how far it travels.
