Hey fellas... I’m in the process of building a MK12 mod 0 and I want to order the full top rail with flip up rear sight. I looked on PRI website and it looks like they have a few different options and just want to make sure I order the right set. If anyone can point me in the right direction on which to order or if you have one to sell it would be greatly appreciated

Is your forearm GenII or GenIII? That'll determine which top rail you'll need to go with. The rails with the PEQ cut up front are spec. They make them in standard picatinny cut up front too if you dont own or use a PEQ but want to use the front rail space.

So it depends on if you want to run a PEQ or not. Or if you just want it to be a spec clone.

ETA: OK, I see you have a GenIII HG. So assuming you wanna stay with the FDE color scheme:

I think the Mod 0 ran the Leupold MR/T 3-9x36mm. Those are pretty hard to come by and pricey nowadays. Mine wore a fixed 10x Leupold Mk4 for simplicity. But a variable in the 2.5-10x range would be perfect.

Eurooptic had some mark 4 2.5-8x36mm scopes the other day. I’m in the process of building one myself and snatched one up. Not sure they have the TS30a2 versions anymore but they do have the one I mentioned above. Better act quick.

Original mod0s uppers ran Leupold Mk4 3.5-10×40mm M3s, like from the mk11 kits. They changed over to the Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x24. Both in ARMs QD rings. Individual units ran some different things, as most of the guys who got these were pointy end if the spear types and could get away with that shit and had P cards.

PRI sells a nice flip up rear but it won't be the correct sight. Honestly, unless your building a 100% clone it doesn't really matter.

There are several mk12 threads on the board. You may check them out for ideas. Sourcing the original Swan sleeve is all but impossible, as is the orginal rear BUIS. PRI makes a new old stock original mk12 mod0 front with the revelation adjustment now. Yours is the one I run and it's a great gas block.

Barrel profile can be cut for the collar and the brake, or its possible Ron could make a collar that would work with your current profile. It doesn't appear to be mk12 profile, though I may just be missing it in your pics.

No matter, they are a wonderful platform. I have a mod0, a RECCE and a 20" with the SPR profile and I run the can on all three. I love them.

Not really going for 100% clone as you can tell in the pics. Just trying to get the look without spending the serious cash on a real one. Thanks for all the good info I think a 3.5-10x40 would probably fit my needs as I probably won’t end up taking it out 500 yards or so. After I recoup some funds after putting this together I’ll be on the lookout for one in the optics px. Thanks again!

I ran my M3 on one for a year or two then went to a 32mm NXS. I find the fixed parallax easier to live with on this platform.. Full sized IPSC at 750 are pretty easy, really easy in fair wind. You'll love it.

If you are using a PRI Gen 3 handguard, the correct day scope would be the Leupold 3-9x40 P/N 7614376 or NSN 1240-01-504-3278. This optic's current descendent is the TS-30A2, but the current TS30-A2 with its alignment marks and battery cap retainer looks less like the original issue than the vanilla 2.5-8x MR/T in P/N 67920 or 67925.

By FY 2002 through the end of the program, new fielded MOD Os (and MOD 1s for that matter) all came with the above optic. The 3.5-10s were only on very early MK12s. These early guns are easily distinguishable by the older (gen 1) PRI tube that has the flush-fitting lock ring.

The nighforce scope mentioned above would probably be correct for an NSW MOD 1.

Of course, a lot of mix and match happened once they were in circulation for a while, so the above is more of a guide for how your clone would have been fielded.

Nice build but why didnt you just go with the AERO SPR ops inc profiled barrel? so you get the look and they are decent barrel that dont break the bank
