Call these guys. They made the Mk12 and have the actual Douglass Barrels available.
you can buy a complete Mod H from them if you want. they also sell complete uppers, but if you call they will probably have barrels. its just not something they sell normally. Thanks, folks.
Will call them tomorrow but I didn’t see any 16” spr spec barrels on their website but I’ll look again.
Will also contact Compass Lake and perhaps Centurian Arms (M LeClair).
WOA makes them, but you have to call to order. I think they quoted me $310 with a 4-6 week lead time last I checked.
compass lake is the best option, but not the cheapest. I am a barrel snob, so Frank and his team do a lot of work for us. Nothing but the best. CLE makes (finishes) a number of the barrels that others are selling for Mk12. Others have mentioned WOA, good people as well. The barrel snob in me does not use BA. If money is an object, get Frank to spin off a Criterion blank. Criterion is getting better and better, as is Bergara in blank production.
Im guessing you mean the Vortex AEM mount, I too went with the SEI vortex havent mounted the can its still in jail, initially was going with a URX 3.1 but decided on spikes BAR 2, post some pics if if have them i would like to see the set upWe made my wife's. (RECCE, not ModH) Started with a 25" 1:7 Green Mountain Stainless blank. ( before you poopoo them, they make a shit load of blanks for other sellers to finish).
Profiled to accept my AEM5 at 16". OPS collar and used a Smith Entreprise brake as she shoots with without the can mostly. We also took some of the meat off under the handguard to lighten it up. Use a KAC URX3.1 handguard and it came together nicely.
Lessons learned. The Smith tri-brake for the AEM5 is a touch longer than the AEM brake. I had to cur about. 020" our the "fingers" were contacting the blast chamber and allowed the can to loosen.
Za German mentioned more turns to tighten the can. Ron actually changed the profile slightly over the one hanging one Gene's wall ( the original, for the first five test barrels) I am paraphrasing, but he preferred at least 8 full thread engagements over the 2-4 you get with the orginal print. We have moved the shoulder slightly on all of mine so I have 8-9 turns.
Looking for a pic now....
