Mk13 Mod 2 Specs?

Does anyone have the actual specs for the Mk13 Mod 2? From what I’ve seen in pictures, it looks almost identical to the Mod 5 with the exception of the Vortex flash hider and the green skins on the AICS chassis

I’ve been doing some Googling but I haven’t landed anywhere that definitively outlines the specs on this variant other than it was built in small numbers for the Rangers. I'm starting a spec list below and hoping others can add to or correct it

Action: Remington 700 L/A
Recoil Lug: ???
Barrel: Lilja Tactical contour threaded for Vortex flash hider
Trigger: ??? (I presume it's an M24)
Muzzle Device: Smith Vortex FH
Chassis: AICS 2.0 with green skins
Scope Base: Remington MARS rail (I've seen pictures with rifles using what looks like Badger Ordnance rings in combination with an IMUNS)

Never heard of anyone refer to a MK13 mod 2, a mod 1, mod 5, mod 5.5, mod 6 and mod 7. Plenty of build specs on m40rifle.com

there is definitely a "Mod2", it probably has more than one name but there was a weird transition in between the mod0 and the mod5. sort of a "lets just use up some stuff from the parts bin"!! haven't found any clear guidance anywhere of specs on the mod2 though.

Awesome post 0812guns! It'll take a lot more research to see exactly what is what, i.e. and MSN part # search, but it gives us the fact it is a real deal.

Added: I note it shows a thread protector, but no suppressor or brake. Is there an addendum to that?

From looking at those pics of the mod2 another interesting thing I noticed is how the barrels are coated black rather than just the plain gray Lilja barrels are usually seen with on mk13s.

Another fact I found out about the mod 2 is that a majority of them had the flash hiders swapped to a thread protector , apparently the flash hider was hurting accuracy. Is that actually a thing ? I wasn’t aware a muzzle device could negatively affect accuracy?

Yes, it is actually a thing. Three things can affect the shot. The weight, may not harmonically balance the barrel. It will change POI. Two, the blast can send the harmonics off as well. Three, if the device comes loose, accuracy goes to hell on any rifle.

Gotcha my build will have a vortex flash hider on it I am going to try shooting it first with it and if it does harm my accuracy I’ll just put a thread protector on it

The Mars rail make a want to buy add I did a couple weeks ago and just bought one. Or if your not concerned about being 100% correct PRI makes one that looks very similar
