Back when I wasn't making what I am worth, I passed up buying a sweet gun built by a master gunsmith. Turns out the man passed away with all of his secrets to building Sub-MOA semi-auto rifles. The company was called Shaolin Rifleworks and their 308 was 3/4 MOA. So I am now looking for something with the same precision. What is out there that is 1 MOA or 3/4 MOA or even 1/2 MOA in a semi-auto?

Putting this to the people of IG. 10+ MPH variable crosswind at 100, 22 degrees and I'm beating myself up over a group like this. Am I vein unduly harsh @MaxOrdinate @redbeardone1 ?

KAC or JP.

Or build one yourself with quality parts and expect some trial and error. My 5.56 rifle will consistently put 5 in an inch at 100 with a 10x and IMI 77gr.

But for real, just buy a KAC and post pics so I can drool.

My experience with a precision semi is mostly on a 20” 224V upper built by Craddock Precision around a medium-heavy Bartlein barrel.

It averages 3/4 MOA with factory 88 grain Hornady Match. I’ve been shooting it a ton lately. When the gun gets dirty (around 350-400 rounds from last thorough cleaning), groups started to open up to just under 1 MOA more and more frequently.

I shot a 10 shot group recently when the barrel was still fairly warm after getting it pretty hot and it held just under 1 MOA without any crazy flyers.

So even under less than ideal conditions (cleaning or shooter related) it’s still sub MOA.

KAC, JP Enterprises, LMT. There are more but those are the main three I'd initially look at. But seriously an out-of-the-box 308 platform rifle that will shoot consistent 5 shot groups at the level you want is not going to be cheap. It is cheaper in most cases to just build one or buy a factory built upper and then throw a lower together. If that's not an option then like I said prepare to spend the money.
