The thing is, once all of that shit on the top, bottom and behind the pistol has been removed and all that is left is the basic gun itself, you got one of the most reliable and rugged pieces of ordnance ever made. And it doubles as a compact war club / metal fist at contact range.
As long as the marking on the slide say "JHP45" I'll take a bunch of these. My old one that I had for 3+ years before selling has never failed me.

I am sure that I am not the only one here who has had a BLAST with Hi-Points and burned many a case of bulk pack FMJ's through them in a few afternoons.

I wouldn't mind my buddies seeing me with a JHP45 though. I am sure after I ring the 200 yard gong a few times, any snickerin' will be replaced by admiration.
