Gunsmithing Modifying a carbon stock

I picked up a Christensen arms stock to use on another brand action and the ejection port doesn't line up right . I've taken an endmill to fiberglass stocks to cut for bolt stops and lengthen the cutout for the ejection port but haven't tried carbon stocks.

Is there a right way to do this without ruining an expensive stock ?

Treat it like a laid up fiberglass anything. Once you cut it, you will need to finish that area off with resin/hardener, just like fiberglass.

I would seal it using boat gel coat

Also i would sand it with 400-1000 grit to keep from having any delamination

Also, if you have any jewlers hacksaw blades thats what i would use to cut it. Slowly

You don't need to seal it. Most of the stock manufacturers just paint over the areas they cut. Do the same, and rock on.

Paint yes. Gelcoat no.

I'd use a sanding drum to do that. Chuck THIS up in your drill press and go easy.

Don't have a drill press but that should work in the mill . Less likely to split the layers might give this a shot . Thanks
