Gunsmithing Modifying an AI magazine

Hello,

I need some help before I ruin an $80 AI magazine.

I want to run DBM on my Rem 700 long action chambered in 6.5x55,

Is there a good way to bend the feed lips of a long acion AI mag magazine so I can get it to feed properly with 6.5x55.

there are tools that are for doing this, but wide jaw pliers work well too. keep the cartridge pointing slightly up. correct mag height will improve feeding as well

I never got around to it but I was going to make a tool out of mild steel bar stock and slit the end to fit the entire length of the mag lip. Just a thought...

I thought about making a Delrin block to slip in the magazine body to take care of any deflection.
I like the bar stock idea, easy to put a wrench on the end for leverage.
