Maggie’s Monkey encounter..

So yesterday on the drive from Mumbai India to Pune India we stopped along the road and fed the wild monkeys.They were crazy and would eat out of your hand. Its just a random spot along the highway on the side of a mountain that the monkeys started gathering and then people starting stopping and feeding them and now they are always there. I gave the monkey a protein bar still in the wrapper and he bit through it and got it open and then opened the rest of the bar just like a person would. Vids will be coming soon once I actually get some bandwidth to upload them. Here are just a couple of pics. One of the little fuggers almost crawled up my leg as I was trying to get the bar out of my bag from the back of the van.

They werent that big and if one of them came after me, I would have punted his furry little ass over the side of the mountain. Its about a 300ft drop on the other side of that guardrail.

Trust me, there is nothing home about this place. Mumbai is the worst place ever.. Dirtier then you can imagine, smells like shit everywhere especially anywhere near water, air quality is so bad it looks foggy all day long, traffic is a joke, stray dogs, cows, and goats everywhere, slums everywhere ( and I mean REAL SLUMS), gov is really corrupt, beggars reach an all time low of renting and then drugging babies, and others cutting off their own limbs so you feel more sorry for them. I will make sure I get all the other pics up after I get back.

Now I must say that for anyone that is not a beggar, everyone has been extremely nice. People stop us to get their pictures taken with us just because we look different.

Amen to that. The least well off person in the states has it much better thatn most of the world. At least if you get fed up yu can leave....for now.

I asked a local in Rio what the name was for the monkeys on Sugar loaf, and he said they are called "Leetel Monkeys". So now I see they have Leetel monkeys in other parts of the world also.

I will second that. My freinds think I'm crazy but monkeys scare the hell out of me. They do look like good jumping and swinging targets!!!
