Mount bipod to MDT Oryx?

Sorry for the noob q, tried a search.

Just put together a rifle using the MDT Oryx and looking to mount a bipod. There is a hole where it looks like you can install a sling stud, and then a bipod but with the flat forend of the Oryx would a normal bipod mount up flush and right?
Just install the stud and gtg?

Would a different mounting system/bipod be better?

The MDT Oryx has a M-LOK forend. Just get the correct M-LOK rail, either Picatinny or ARCA...

You can get a small arca section, or the full length piece from MDT that makes it flat all the way.

It depends on what bipod you want to mount (if you own one already) but the most common options are:

• M-Lok Picatinny rail (2.5" or 3.15" would work great)
• Oryx Chassis ARCS/RRS Dovetail - Full Length
• Alternatively you could direct mount an M-Lok Bipod
  • MDT GRND-Pod - M-Lok
  • MDT Oryx Bipod - M-Lok

If you already have a Harris bipod or MagPul (or similar) that mounts to a sling swivel, we also offer an M-lok sling swivel mount too!

Ditch the sling swivel entirely, its a half-assed mounting method and the least reliable. Sling swivel mounts basically exist because older hunting rifles had no rails, and newer cheaper hunting stocks are commonly hollow, so adding (and bedding) a rail isn't a great solution either.

Grab a picatinny or arca rail section with mlok mounts, and use it to mount whatever bipod you want after.
