Nice tine length, good looking buck. How long is that right side G2? Waiting on a 9pt from taxidermist this year myself. Waiting sucks.

I hunted this guy for a few years I saw him as a 9 point for the first time he went 8 point the next year and went back to a 9 point this year and this was the year.
A deer like this around here is hard to kill..

How long is a "standard" waiting time for mounts?
I'll be going on my first hunting trip this fall (Pronghorn and deer combo hunt in WY), and am just wondering.
Here's to hoping I'll have something to wait for!

Mostly it depends on the tanning method, work load of your taxidermist, and if he does it in house or outsources the tanning. The first taxidermist I used outsourced his and it took about 10-12 months for a shoulder mount on a whitetail. The guy I use now does a wet tan in house and if he isn't swamped, can turn them around easily in less than 6 months.

Nice deer man. The taxidermist did good work. I still havent killed one big one enough to throw on the wall yet. Maybe I should just stop lettin em walk by all the time.
