I hunted this guy for a few years I saw him as a 9 point for the first time he went 8 point the next year and went back to a 9 point this year and this was the year.

A deer like this around here is hard to kill..

Mostly it depends on the tanning method, work load of your taxidermist, and if he does it in house or outsources the tanning. The first taxidermist I used outsourced his and it took about 10-12 months for a shoulder mount on a whitetail. The guy I use now does a wet tan in house and if he isn't swamped, can turn them around easily in less than 6 months.
