Hi,

I am interested in getting into bolt rifle shooting. I have been looking at the MPA 6.5 for a long time. I can get one for around 2500.00 new. Why would I want the Vudoo action with a mpa chassis or AI chassis that would cost just as much or more than the 6.5 creedmoor. I plan on shooting out to 300 yards, but I like this whole accuracy thing. The 22lr to me seems underpowered and messy to clean up. The only advantage is cheaper to shoot and more quiet with a suppressor. If I bought the 22lr I would definitely consider the Thunder Beast 22 suppressor for it.

The vudoo 22lr is a supplement to train with, not to replace your centerfire match rifle. Its a low cost (ammo) low recoil alternative to training with your dedicated match rifle. The ideal setup would be to own both.

From the perspective of how many matches you can shoot with a 22RF as opposed to CF PRS-type matches, it's got to be easier for most of you guys to be within easy driving distance of a range or place where a 22RF match can be set up than it is to find a place where a CF match with targets out to 1000yds can be set up. With proper care, a match grade 22LR bbl is going to last indefinitely, vs. 1500-2800rds with a CF bbl. IOW, if you're looking at a Vudoo or other precision 22RF as more than just a trainer for your CF comp rifle or rifles, you're going to be able to get in a lot more shooting with a 22.

My Savage TR is surprisingly good at 100 yards with Wolf MT. I had to increase the LOP and comb. I shoot this out my home office window thru the woods at a 25-50-100 yard target which are protected from wind.

What isn't fun about shooting a 10lb rifle using multiple positions and props using small to tiny steel targets? I really enjoy shooting my 6.5CM in the our 2- local PRS style matches but it is just a kick in the butt shooting the local NRL22 match also. Why do one when I can do both and they each benefit each other.
