Rifle Scopes MPED vs Viper HD

I currently have a Bushnell MPED on a rifle that I use for PRS and NRL Hunter matches (6.5CM bolt gun). I know that the new Viper HD line is technically geared towards hunting, but the 5-25x50 seems to have all the features of the PST-II's (FFP and Xmas tree reticle). Seems like the only difference is the capped windage knob, which is a non-issue for my personal use.

Any thoughts on whether the Viper HD would be a step-up from the MPED? Or about the same? I have no issue with the MPED, but curious if I can get a decent amount of upgrade for a good price when the Viper HD goes on the super-duper mil-discounted sale.

The glass in my Viper HD 5-25x50 FFP is pretty damn good, and impressive for the price. Don't know about the Bushy, so can't tell you one way or the other how it stacks up.
