MSA Sordin Supreme Pro

Very comfortable gel cups. Blocks out the noise even without the electronics. Once the noise canceling is on they’re great for conversations and sound blocking. As far as being the best, that’s a personal decision. I use my Otto’s underneath the Sordins, but I’m trying to persevere the little hearing I have left.

After talking to an audiologist he said it's best to have plugs under muffs.

I'm going to use the Decibullz percussion filters under the Wording or 3M contacts. My tinnitus has worsen even wearing earplugs, he said gotta have muffs especially with the percussive gun shots. He said muffs and plugs or supressors. I work in the electric power generation industry, screaming ass turbine plant ear plugs have not been enough which has contributed to my additional hearing issues.

I like my sordins but the strap came apart from one side of the muffs. I had to duct tape it back together. Not a fan of that. I still have them but I now use the Peltor comtac IIIs. Love them. Couldn't say anything negative other than they are hot but this was in the south east in July-September. Hotter than fuck regardless.

I use the MSA's 99 percent of the time now. I have some ComTac II's also but I have to use an odd cheek-weld on some rifles the way they are designed.

My cable literally disintegrated on a pair of my 12-year old MSA's. Turned into a gooey mess and slithered off. Took them completely apart (soldering and all) to re-cover the cable with marine-grade heat-shrink. Good as new now. I preemptively bought a new pair just in case I didn't fix them though.

I did notice that the electronics in the new MSA's are way more sensitive to sound than my older ones. It's almost a surround-sound type of response versus simple stereo amplification.

i have these in the behind the head/neck band. I used to wear impact sports and would feel like my head was in a vice by the first hour. I will never buy any other pair of ear pro after these.

NIK, WHAT YOU SAY?

:giggle::p Just kidding! I always double up!

Love my Sordins... Forgot them at home last trip and had to suffer wearing my backup Howard Leight Impact Sports all day.

I recently acquired a set of MSA Sordin 75321 headset, I don't need the Lemo cable and boom mic. Is it possible to just cut the Lemo cable and boom mic off? Im just using them to go to the range, I don't need communication. Also if possible, will the electronics still work?

Thanks for your help

frn0003, yes it’s possible to remove the boom mic. Just seal up the wires and the hole.

Blkwfk9: not sure if it’s the same issue, but I once broke the side slider on mine. The replacement set took care of it, and they were cheap.

I have msa sordin and peltor comtac 3. My peltors blow the msa sordin away. I still get a sharp crack with the msa sordin electronic on or off. The peltors also do better with wind when you have the electronics on.

Should I take them apart and remove the boom and lemo cable, or can I just cut them off?

Thanks
