I am staring my first true custom build and looking for a little advice. The rifle is starting a Pierce custom action L/A repeater, this will be placed in a Accuracy International AX chassis. The rifle will be a 300 win mag with a Broughton 26" 1-10 twist with 5C rifling. The gun will have a 30 moa with 30mm TPS rings and Leupold Mark 4 6.5-20 with TMR. I am beginning long range tactical competition and I am looking for a muzzle brake which will aloow me to see my splash at long ranges. I am also trying to decide which reamer I should use to shoot factory 190's and reloaded 208's

Re: muzzle brake for 300 win mag

I got a Fat Bastard for my dad's TRG 42 at Christmas and he told me last night that I'm going to have to shoot it because it's like a new gun.

I have the Little Bastard on my TRG 22 and it's pretty awesome too.

Neither are going to make friends with neighbors though at the range.

Do you hate the people you shoot with? If you really can't handle the recoil then get a can. My 300 win sits in a Mcree, 26" Rock, NXS 5.5-22. If you are behind the guy properly you shouldn't have any issues staying on glass. I feel brakes are for guys who refuse to get straight behind the guy and dislike others around them.
